kids doing hung ga kung fu

We teach traditional southern Shaolin five animal kung fu. Our kid's classes provide a variety of benefits to your child.

Physical Fitness: Classes include exercises to develop strength, flexibility, speed, agility, balance and body connection.

Life Skills: Our instructors are parents themselves, and they understand the importance of encouraging students to develop attributes such as discipline, teamwork, focus, self control, self esteem, and determination.

Self Defense: Our curriculum includes a strong self-defense component, including striking, kicking, grappling, escapes and conflict avoidance.

Cultural Tradition: In addition to kung fu, we teach lion dancing and other traditional aspects of the Chinese martial arts.

Fun: We encourage children to work hard in class, but also to have fun through games and social exchange.

  • Kids Kung Fu (ages 7 - 9) - The basics of kung fu are trained.  Emphasis is placed on body mechanics, learning motivation, and disciplining oneself and working well with other students. Kung fu techniques and applications are presented as fun exercises. Simple and short forms are taught.
  • Kids Kung Fu (ages 9-12) - Hung Ga techniques are taught, with applications. Emphasis placed more on self-defense, and both striking, kicking and grappling are taught. Students learn traditional Hung Ga Forms.
